PP&A ia a full service firm offering a range of accounting, auditing, income tax planning, tax preparation, financial planning, and third-party consulting services for businesses and individuals. Additionally the firm performs audits and consulting services for municipal and state governments, school departments and private industry.

 

Responsibilities within the firm include:

- New business development

- Resolution of clients’ business and accounting issues

- Performance of executive administrative responsibilities as required.

- Serve as Partner-In-Charge for select client engagements

1985 - 1997

Partner and Co-Founder: Parmelee, Bacon & Edge, CPAs (formerly Parmelee, Gardner & Hayek, Ltd.), a mid-sized firm servicing most industries. Services included accounting (audits, reviews, and compilation), tax planning and preparation, and management consulting.

 

Responsibilities within the firm included:

- New business development

- Resolution of clients’ business and accounting issues

- Performance of executive administrative responsibilities as required.

Founder and President: Shehan, Parmelee & Company, CPAs. Operations commenced as a sole practice (John A. Parmelee, CPA), and associated with a sole practitioner (William P. Shehan, CPA) in 1976, and was incorporated at that time. Employment reached 18 persons and serviced over 100 clients in various industries.

 

Firm services included:

- Certified audits

- Financial management services

- Tax planning and preparation

- General accounting services.

 

1965 - 1974

Audit Supervisor: Ernst & Ernst.

 

Responsibilities included:

- Supervision of audit field work on large, medium, and small audit engagements

- Report preparation including:           

- Annual stockholders’ reports

- SEC reports

- Tax Returns

- Analysis of and recommendations for improvement on systems of internal control

- Design of financial reporting systems for companies in various industries

Accomplishments include: design of financial operating systems for RI’s Newport Bridge (Pell

Bridge); recommendation of and assistance in implementing toll systems for RI’s Mount Hope Bridge.
